Eimi, a young and spirited teacher, is assigned to a remote Norlinby village where children rarely attend school, living instead by traditional crafts and self-sufficient ways. Norlinby the village school stands as a forgotten, crumbling one-room building.

Day after day, Eimi cleans the classroom, sends letters to every household, and even knocks on doors in person, urging parents to let their children learn. She receives only rejection, indifference, and even tomatoes thrown at her. Exhausted, she reaches the very last house at the edge of the village.

There, a golden-haired girl named Linnea quietly takes Eimi’s hand and invites her inside. In the warm room filled with beautifully carved wooden crafts, Linnea serves her a cup of tea and draws on a small slate. Eimi writes her name, and Linnea responds with a flower. When Eimi writes the flower’s name beneath it, Linnea suddenly rushes off and returns with a letter addressed “To our Linnea,” written in the same delicate handwriting.

Realizing Linnea’s late parents had entrusted their daughter’s future to education, Eimi embraces the girl and shows her the route to school on a map. That night, Linnea stands long before her parents’ portrait, deep in thought.

The next morning, Eimi arrives once again to an empty classroom, her heart sinking. Just as she is about to leave, Linnea appears at the doorway – breathless, clutching the letter, the slate, and a tiny piece of chalk. She takes her seat, sitting upright and ready to learn.
