The story begins inside a townhouse, with the image of a mother intently staring at her laptop while working. On the table, her phone vibrates nonstop with messages from her boss pressing for deadlines. Sitting in the middle of the house is her young son, playing by himself among piles of scattered Lego bricks. After struggling for a while, the boy manages to assemble a robot that he considers “super cool.” Excited, he eagerly runs over to show it to his mother, but she barely pays attention—her fingers continue flying across the keyboard, and her dark, tired eyes never leave the computer screen.
The boy’s excitement slowly turns into disappointment. He tosses the robot aside and tries other ways to get his mother’s attention. However, despite his playful attempts, she still does not notice him. She even becomes irritated by the noise and scolds him.
Feeling sad and hurt, the boy looks toward the door and notices a beautiful flower blooming across the street. Suddenly, an idea pops into his head. He walks out of the house, intending to pick the flower for his mother, without realizing that the road in front of the house is filled with fast-moving traffic and is extremely dangerous. By the time the mother realizes what is happening, the boy has already stepped onto the roadside, with cars honking loudly all around him. Panicking, she rushes out into the street to save her child.
At that moment, the boy has crossed halfway when a vehicle loses control and charges toward him. Fortunately, the mother reaches him in time, throwing her arms around him and leaping to the other side of the road, escaping death by a split second. When she regains her composure, fear and worry for her son turn into anger on her face, and she is about to scold him harshly. But the boy suddenly hands her the flower, wearing an innocent smile and clear, pure eyes, as if he has just achieved his goal.
Seeing this, the mother suddenly realizes that her own indifference is the root cause of everything that happened. She tightly embraces her son and bursts into tears.
