The film opens with a warm yet suffocating atmosphere surrounding a father and son in a home marked by the mother’s absence. Mr. B, a large, rugged butcher, harbors a boundless love for his small young son, Boy A. However, that love is bound by extreme rules: he strictly forbids the boy from approaching the locked kitchen, forces him to stop before a fateful red line, and compels him to take medication daily to suppress the trauma-induced hallucinations stemming from the tragic accident that took his mother.
This isolated shelter inadvertently turns into an invisible pressure, pushing Boy A into a lonely world where his only outlet for fear is his drawings. The real turning point arrives one night when A secretly spits out the pill his father just fed him. Soon after, the reality surrounding him begins to unravel and distort. In a state of panic and curiosity, A steals past the red line and breaches his father’s forbidden world: the kitchen.
Here, the reek of blood and dangling slabs of meat ignite a psychological frenzy. A noise in the kitchen catches the father’s attention. Through A’s trauma-distorted eyes, his loving father turns into a bloodthirsty butcher, chasing him down infinite, monstrous hallways. Flying for his life, the boy bursts into the final room and finds his mother’s keepsake—triggering a surge of memories from the tragic car accident years ago that tears his mind apart. Right at the edge of death before the ‘butcher’s’ blade, the monster vanishes as the father wraps A tightly in his arms. The father’s warm embrace pulls the boy back to reality, scattering the grotesque phantoms. The film closes under the quiet sunrise on a hill, where father and son stand before the mother’s grave, accepting their grief to move forward together.
